BEMER Young Riders Tour — Start frei für die nächste Generation

(Hagen a.T.W.) Seit mehr als 20 Jahren motiviert sie Reiter und Pferde zu Höchstleistungen, hält Zuschauer in Atem und bringt Spitzensport zu einigen der schönsten Turnierplätze Deutschlands. Die BEMER Riders Tour ist die bekannteste und angesehenste Springsport-Serie in Deutschland. Viele große Namen wie Marcus Ehning, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann oder Christian Ahlmann durften sich schon mit dem Titel ‘Rider of the Year’ schmücken.

Auch die Weltstars haben einmal “klein angefangen”, sich auf Turnieren und Championaten gegen ihre Altersklasse bewiesen und vom großen Durchbruch im Seniorenlager geträumt. Einige der besten und erfolgreichsten europäischen Nachwuchsreiter springen im Junge Reiter Lager, in der Altersklasse U21. Eben diesen jungen Talenten wollen der Titelpartner BEMER Int. AG und die Macher der Riders Tour GmbH, Paul Schockemöhle und Ullrich Kasselmann, neue Möglichkeiten geben, sich im “Seniorensport” zu testen und ihre Fähigkeiten unter Beweis zu stellen.

Die Förderung des Nachwuchs war schon immer eine Idee der Riders Tour, aber bekommt jetzt mit der BEMER Young Riders Tour konkrete Züge. „Die Maximierung von Chancen für unsere Young Riders, an bekannten internationalen Events teilzunehmen, ist ein entscheidender Faktor für das Wachstum und die Nachhaltigkeit des Pferdesports”, sagt Ullrich Kasselmann. Gleichzeitig eröffnen sich so auch neue Zielgruppen, insbesondere die der international erfolgreichen Jungen Reiter, für die klassische BEMER Riders Tour.

Die sportlich bedeutsame Serie FEI Jumping Nations Cup Youth wurde identifiziert, erstmalig in die BEMER Young Riders Tour 2022 integriert zu werden. Zu den acht Qualifikationsetappen in Europa gehören so bekannte Turnierorte wie Opglabbeek (BEL), Gorla Minore (ITA), Zduchovice (CZE), Fontainebleau (FRA), Lamprechtshausen (AUT), Zuidwolde (NED) und Hagen a. T.W. (GER). Das Finale

findet vom 22. bis 25. September 2022 im Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in Kronenberg (NED) statt.

„Wir freuen, uns den Bekanntheitsgrad von BEMER und der BEMER Riders Tour auf diese Weise im relevanten europäischen Ausland zu steigern und gleichzeitig der klassischen Riders Tour ein zweites, jugendliches Gesicht zu verleihen,” erklärt Veranstalter Francois Kasselmann.

Das Sportkonzept: BEMER Young Riders Tour

Es wird ein Punktesystem analog dem der BEMER Riders Tour geben: Teilnehmer starten zunächst in einer Einlauf- bzw. Qualifikationsprüfung für den Grand Prix. Die Wertungsprüfung ist dann der Young Rider Grand Prix oder Final Round im Nations Cup Youth. Das Ranking wird während der laufenden Serie permanent aktualisiert, um im Anschluss an das Finale der FEI Jumping Nations Cup Youth Serie den ‘Young Rider of the Year’ zu ermitteln. Die drei Erstplatzierten des finalen Rankings erhalten als Sachprämie die Anbindung an die klassische BEMER Riders Tour. Der Young Rider of the Year bekommt einen Startplatz bei vier Etappen der BEMER Riders Tour der Folgesaison, wobei der Start bei der 1. Etappe verpflichtend ist. Für den Zweitplatzierten gibt es einen Startplatz bei zwei Etappen der BEMER Riders Tour der Folgesaison. Die Teilnahme an der ersten Etappe ist ebenfalls obligatorisch. Der Drittplatzierte darf sich auf einen Startplatz bei einer auserwählten Etappe der BEMER Riders Tour der Folgesaison freuen.

BEMER Young Riders Tour – Ready for the next generation

(Hagen a.T.W./ Germany) For more than 20 years the BEMER Riders Tour has been motivating riders and horses to top performances, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats and bringing top sport to some of the most beautiful showgrounds in Germany. It is the best known and most prestigious show jumping series in Germany. Many big names such as Marcus Ehning, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann or Christian Ahlmann have already been awarded the title ‘Rider of the Year’.

Even these top stars once “started small” and proved themselves against their age group at tournaments and championships whilst dreaming of the big breakthrough in the senior division. Some of the best and most successful European young riders compete in the young riders’ camp, in the U21 age group. It is precisely these young talents that the title partner BEMER Int. AG and the makers of the Riders Tour GmbH, Paul Schockemöhle and Ullrich Kasselmann, want to award new opportunities to test themselves in the “senior sport” and prove their potential.

Promoting young talent has always been part of the Riders Tour concept, but is now taking on real shape with the BEMER Young Riders Tour. “Maximising opportunities for our young riders to compete in well-known international events is a crucial factor for the growth and sustainability of equestrian sport,” says Ullrich Kasselmann. At the same time, this also opens up new target groups, especially those of internationally successful young riders, for the classic BEMER Riders Tour.

The highly important FEI Jumping Nations Cup Youth series has been identified to be integrated into the BEMER Young Riders Tour 2022 for the first time. The eight qualifying stages in Europe include such well-known show venues as Opglabbeek (BEL), Gorla Minore (ITA), Zduchovice (CZE), Fontainebleau (FRA), Lamprechtshausen (AUT), Zuidwolde (NED) and Hagen a. T.W. (GER). The final will take place at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in Kronenberg (NED) from 22 to 25 September 2022.

“We are delighted to be able to raise the profile of BEMER and the BEMER Riders Tour in the relevant European countries in this way and at the same time to give the classic Riders Tour a second, youthful face,” explains organiser Francois Kasselmann.

The sports concept: BEMER Young Riders Tour

There will be a points system, similar to that of the BEMER Riders Tour: Participants will first start in an entry or qualification round for the Grand Prix. The qualifying competition will then be the Young Rider Grand Prix or Final Round in the Nations Cup Youth. The ranking will be permanently updated during the current series in order to determine the ‘Young Rider of the Year’ following the final of the FEI Jumping Nations Cup Youth series. The three first-placed riders of the final ranking will receive entry to the classic BEMER Riders Tour as a non-cash prize. The Young Rider of the Year will receive a starting place at four stages of the BEMER Riders Tour in the following season, whereby the start at the first event is obligatory. The runner-up will receive a starting place at two stages of the BEMER Riders Tour in the following season. Participation in the first stop is also compulsory. The third-placed rider can look forward to a starting place at a selected event of the BEMER Riders Tour in the following season.
